Visual Music Design built the SeeMusic application as a commercial application. SeeMusic is provided by Visual Music Design and is intended for use as provided.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use SeeMusic or visit the SeeMusic website, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

​

If you create a SeeMusic account, contact us, or purchase a subscription, we may receive information such as:

• Your email address and account information;

• Information you submit when requesting support;

• Subscription status, product type, expiration information, and related transaction identifiers; and

• Other information you voluntarily provide.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers or application stores. Visual Music Design does not receive or store your complete payment-card information.

Anonymous Usage Analytics

​

Supported versions of SeeMusic on Windows, macOS, and iOS use Aptabase to collect limited anonymous usage information. This helps Visual Music Design understand whether important features are working successfully and where users encounter difficulty.

Before analytics begins, SeeMusic makes a brief request through Cloudflare to assign a broad U.S., international, or unknown market category. SeeMusic does not retain the Internet Protocol address or determine the user’s exact location through this process.

Analytics may include general information about feature use, application platform and version, operating-system information, device locale, whether the current access status is free or paid, broad market category, and temporary session information. Examples of feature events include importing or playing content, connecting or recording with a MIDI keyboard, completing guided setup, viewing an upgrade screen, beginning checkout, and activating a subscription.

Analytics does not include your name, email address, SeeMusic account identifier, filenames, musical content, recordings, exported media, payment information, advertising identifier, or a persistent SeeMusic analytics identifier. Each distinct feature event is generally submitted no more than once for the current installation.

Aptabase processes this information as Visual Music Design’s analytics service provider. Additional information is available in the Aptabase Privacy Policy.

Analytics Choice

​

Anonymous usage analytics are enabled by default on supported versions of SeeMusic. You can stop future analytics submissions at any time by opening the subscription or account area and using the Anonymous Analytics control beside the Privacy Policy button.

Turning analytics off does not affect SeeMusic features, account access, or your subscription. It does not delete anonymous information submitted before analytics was disabled.

The Android version of SeeMusic does not currently use this Aptabase integration.

Diagnostic and Log Data

​

SeeMusic and the operating system may create limited technical information when an error occurs. Visual Music Design may receive diagnostic information when you choose to provide it while requesting support or when it is made available through an application platform’s diagnostic services.

This information is used to identify technical problems and improve the reliability and security of SeeMusic.

Video Recording and Local Media

​

SeeMusic may record video when you use the Video Capture feature. After recording, you may save the video to your local device.

Visual Music Design does not receive, retain, or transmit the resulting video through the Video Capture feature. MIDI files, media files, and exported content remain on your device unless you independently choose to share or upload them using another service.

Website and Cookies

​

The SeeMusic desktop and mobile applications do not use browser cookies for the anonymous app analytics described above.

The SeeMusic website is hosted using Wix and may use cookies or similar technologies necessary to operate the website, remember preferences, understand website traffic, and provide website features. Available cookie choices may be presented through the website’s cookie controls.

Your browser may also allow you to block or delete cookies. Disabling necessary cookies may affect the operation of some website features.

How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

• Provide and operate SeeMusic;

• Create and maintain user accounts;

• Process and verify subscriptions;

• Provide customer support;

• Understand application usage and improve the user experience;

• Diagnose technical problems;

• Protect the security and integrity of the Service;

• Comply with applicable legal obligations; and

• Enforce our agreements and protect our legal rights.

We do not sell personal information or use SeeMusic analytics information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Service Providers

We may use third-party service providers to assist with functions such as:

• Account hosting and authentication;

• Subscription and payment processing;

• Application distribution;

• Website hosting;

• Customer support;

• Product analytics; and

• Technical diagnostics.

These providers may process information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf or as otherwise described in their own privacy policies and applicable agreements.

Aptabase provides the anonymous application analytics described above, and Cloudflare provides the broad regional classification used with those analytics.

Data Retention

​

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the Service, maintaining appropriate business and transaction records, resolving disputes, complying with legal obligations, and protecting our rights.

Anonymous analytics information is retained according to our Aptabase settings and service agreement. Because this information is not connected to a SeeMusic account, Visual Music Design generally cannot associate an analytics record with a particular person or account.

Visual Music Design and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

Security

We value your trust and use commercially reasonable measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Rights

​

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain processing.

You may contact us to submit a privacy request. We may need information reasonably necessary to verify the request and locate the relevant records. Anonymous analytics information is not connected to your SeeMusic account, so we may not be able to identify particular analytics records as belonging to you.

You may disable future analytics submissions directly within supported versions of the application using the Anonymous Analytics control.

SeeMusic may contain links to websites or services that are not operated by Visual Music Design. If you follow a third-party link, that third party’s privacy policy and practices will apply.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party websites or services.

Children’s Privacy

​

SeeMusic is not directed to children under 13, and Visual Music Design does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate authorization.

If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information may contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

Changes become effective when the updated policy is posted, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
